I’ve been trying to figure out a wiring schematic for 2 humbuckers with a 5-way superswitch and volume and tone push/pull pots.
I now have the wiring you often see with 2 humbuckers:
- bridge series
- bridge inner coil and neck inner coil split (parallel)
- bridge and neck series (parallel)
- bridge outer coil and neck outer coil split (parallel)
- neck series
I want to be able in 1,3 and 5 to select the HB between series/parallel with the 2 push/pull pots series (bridge and neck separate)
I’ve been trying to draw this but I don’t think it’ll work. The issue is that for either inner coils or either outer coils there’s room on the superswitch but not for either AFAIKT. The other 2 blocks of 5 are for the output of the bridge and neck.
its also a schematic I’ve never seen before. I’ve seen a schematic (attached) for a Suhr HSH Thornley that has series/parallel in position 1, 3 and 5 but in positions 2 and 4 it splits the humbucker’s inner coils. Not both HB inner coils split and outer coils split together.
I’ve wired guitars with bridge series, bridge parallel, bridge + neck series, neck parallel and neck series With a split mini dpdt that switches bridge inner coil split, neck outer coil split (I prefer that one) and both split in the middle position. You miss the inner and outer split coil combination in that case.
if someone has a lead or an idea how to get this working that would be great!
