Your best and worst pedal hot takes? 🔥

Power jacks below the side mono jack need to make a comeback as well 🤡🤡🤡
One of my many bats*t ideas:
Internal power jacks.
PCB mount DC jack internal to the pedal but rotated 90° downward.
Small botch in the enclosure lid/base for the cable to pass through.
A little piece of RF shielding foam taped to the lid/baseplate to both seal the hole from interference as well as cushion the male DC connector to hold it in place.
Ship the pedal with a small male to female cable pre installed but once it's claimed a spot on the pedalboard you have the option to permanently install a DC cable.
Would clean up pedal wiring some and make room on the back of small enclosures

Weird idea. But if you’re making a more permanent board with smaller enclosures, this might be really effective.
How would you attach the down facing DC jack in the enclosure?

To be fair, he lives in a city that is a destination for wind surfing and kite boarding. The fart reference may only be secondary. Said the guy with Josef Pujol as his profile pic....
Yep, my very long standing (pre Interweb forums) user names Passingwind and Passinwind were originally from USENET wind sports groups. Passing Wind was my first band’s name when I moved here in the late 80s, FWIW. And I actually despise farty bass noises, oddly enough. But I live to obfuscate, so all good! :poop:

PCB mounted DC jack. Same as always(for most production pedals). Just use one with PCB pins 180° from the input. Right between the IO jacks.

I always thought it was a fart joke… now your screen name isn’t as fun….

, or get into modular synths.
I have been so tempted. But I keep telling myself that it will only result in
A)more unpopulated PCBs and/or more unhoused populated PCBs
B)more gear that I don't use regularly and don't have room for.

But there are so many vendors and cool modules out there. Every time I get the itch I boot up Cherry Voltage and remind myself that I have no f*cking clue.
