These days I try to put all the materials for the BoM in a plastic bag. Then I can focus my energy on finding the wire cutter cunningly lurking beneath all the plastic bags (which contain all the materials for other BoMs). Next I focus my energy on finding the solder sucker cunningly lurking beneath all the plastic bags (same old refrain). Despite my best efforts, the discipline of putting tools back where they belong in mid-build rather than strewing them on my workbench continues to elude me, it seems. Lather, rinse, repeat.
