Sheet metal enclosures... inspire me

I don't know how they can bend such heavy gauge steel so tightly. The enclosures are beautiful and I wish I could buy some! I did find out who made them because I think Rockett had a blog about it - I emailed the steel guys but (understandably) they were reluctant to sell me some boxes. They don't look cheap so maybe they did me a favour!

I think I'll give it a try but I do not use steel.. it's a bit hard to work with. I prefer aluminium. I am not sure it will be easy to get such nice corners. Aluminium does not like tight corners/edges.

I know what you mean. I like the size of the Rockett enclosures as much as anything else. And the way they are made means it's a little easier to get the jacks in at the top because there are no filled-in corners to allow space for the lid screws. I have seen cast Hammond style boxes where guys have crushed them with their feet - I doubt you could do that to a Rockett Tour Series enclosure. I also like the true vertical walls. When you line up a few they sit flush together and look impressive.

I had a flying saucer/spaceship shaped Roger Mayer Fuzz for a while, and I loved the shape of the cast enclosure. But it wasn't really pedalboard friendly. These days I like trying to make my board as small as possible. My gig board is usually only 3-4 pedals - tuners, OD and delay - and fits onto a Pedaltrain Nano. I make my own dual-OD pedals in a 1590BB box. Something with a bit more personality would be nice - maybe a way of protecting the knobs more like Boss and Ibanez do. Not sure how you could do that in folded sheetmetal. But compact is my thing.

Foxrox makes some really nice pedals and the enclosures are pretty sweet. I have the Octron3 and it sounds amazing and super reliable. They also make double pedals like the one below.

How does it sound? The demos seem good and I added it to the wishlist a while back…
It was nice, but ultimately ended up on the chopping block. It was an interesting concept to have a 2 in 1 like this, but the settings that I liked for either one were so far off from each other it was an either/or proposition. May as well have just been two separate, distinct pedals. For the price, building a Byzantium was much more fulfilling.
