Well I found a guitar I like!

Now THIS is a heck of a great idea from Rutter.....just a wee bit more room to hit the toggle, which is a particular pain in the butt for the 4 way switching on both my Teles.

There are also Tele control plates where the volume knob is shifted back a bit. Göldo makes one.

One thing I really dislike about the Gotoh, if you buy the whole bridge with the "In Tune" saddles, it doesn't show in the pictures but it's stamped "In Tune" in a cheesy looking font. That's the bridge on my Thinline when I built it. I wasn't annoyed enough to swap out the bass plate but this thread had got me reconsidering it.....hahahhaha.. I have a feeling I'm gonna be giving Mr. Rutter some of my money.

I bought the Fender bridge plate and gotoh saddles. The seller I usually buy that stuff from thankfully highlights the 'in-tune' logo or I'd have ordered it too. I'd rather it said Fender than in-tune

In my perhaps not so distant future is a dual hum bucker Tele build I've been toying with. I'd probably do some kind of 5 way switching to get some split sounds. I've been using Oaks Grigsby 4 way Tele switches on my Teles to add the "in series" position with both pickups but the travel of the switch is just a skootch more than a typical control plate. Enough that sometimes it will spring from one position to the other because it wasn't completely seated. I've had to file the control plates on both my Teles a bit to give it more travel.

I did it to one of my Tele's & I got a round file & took a smidge of each side of the Oaks Grigsby switch.

Interesting that some folks have had to adjust their control plates. Everything I have bought from Rutters has fit perfectly. One order for saddles I had didn't ship immediately so he sent one of those knurled switch caps with it to make up for the delay. I hadn't even noticed because everything takes ages to get here anyway.

Now I've seen the Gotoh titanium saddles and I want to know what they sound like!
