The More Trippy, The More Far Out Man, The Better!

I'm a huge fan of experimental sounds and love adding them to my live performances. I use those sounds more as accents, to be layers behind the jams that I build upon. I'm always on the lookout for really weird gear, new and old. Modulation and delays are mainstays on my boards

Just looking for any suggestions on some things to take a look at. The following is a list of my absolute favorite pedals I use to obtain these sounds, just to get the ball rolling in some direction. Also ordered the Meris Enzo (love Meris a ton!), so have that on the way.

Strymon Night Sky
Pigtronics Echolution 2
EHX Synth 9
EHX Mod Rex
Meris Polymoon & LVX
Roland GR20 (LOVE this thing, highly interested in the latest Boss model SY1000)
GFI Synesthesia

Also, not interested in any DIY options, lord knows I've built plenty of modulation pedals.

Wireless midi must be a v4 feature
I have the v2(I think)
The capabilities are pretty insane, especially once you dive into the software

Prunes and Custard, the PPCB version being the Curds and Whey.

As a seeker and connoisseur of mind-altering tones, that’s high up my picks

That may seem odd. Because it is! Odd order harmonics, that is. The sound of wavefolding distortion is very synergistic with a lot of other forms of signal processing.

Like an envelope filter, but a lot more meeyoo than wahhoo.

+1 on prunes and custard, but anything from Parasit studio, Deadend fx has lots of weird (check out the Tatiana it’s not a noise maker, but can make your regular shit go weird)/Calypso, Madbean Glitchee/Wavelord/Edgelord, PPCB Cordyceps/Minnow/pitch witch, there’s always the rainbow machine, and any of the Lovetone clones at AionFx, VFE Mobius delay

Sorry, didn’t read the “no diy” even though you are missing the boat on some really cool stuff. There’s always the EHX Blurst/Super Ego/RTG. I have been enjoying my OBNE Reverse. Malekko Sneak Attack. Really you just need to check out the Knobs channel on YouTube.

Built the Tatiana, Amnesia, Glitchee, most of the Parasit stuff, Minnow, Rainbow Machine........I could keep going. So, not really interested in the diy stuff haha. LOVE the Parasit Sentient Machine, especially using it while playing bass on my guitar using the Roland GR20. The Boss SY1000 is definitely down the road.

The commerical digital stuff has been a TON of fun to add to my music, especially live. I see alot of people complaining on threads online about only using those types of effects in the studio, but if you've got a handle on midi/expression pedal/presets, it hasn't been a challenge for me. Adds so much to my performances.

Really Hard to Not Mention DIY stuff. Maybe that should've been right at the TOP of the OP.
Is circuit bending a commercial pedal considered DIY or store-bought?

Simon the Magpie modded DS-1, Casio, Speak&Spell, etc etc...

I share similar tastes — Freq-y-Deaky makes me tweqy.

Here's the FarOUT commercial pedals I have accumulated:
  • Montreal Assembly Count to Five
  • Panda Future Impact, already mentioned by others
  • EHX SuperEgo
  • Chinese Gonkulator Clone
  • Mantic Density Hulk
  • DOD Meatbox
  • Korg 301DL Dynamic Echo
  • Line6 M5

Some being one-trick ponies, others sleepers, but ooh what tricks and hidden dreams!

Lots of stuff I'd like to get my hands on, but... I can't suggest any of those wants from first-hand experience.

Mercury X is probably coming your way at some point as well? I love that one, even more than I do the LVX. From my personal collection as well: WMD Protostar, an envelope filter that can go in strange places due to its patch bay. Tasty Chips Integral (dual reverb IR loader with tons of modulation options). Red Witch Titan, tripple delay with effects loop, which allows for amazing polyrhytyms, OBNE Float, dual filter that, thanks to the expression possibilties can go wild as well. All of Lastgasp, though that's more for people into noise than anything else. You likely also have a feedbacker ala Total Audio Destruction or Horse d'oeuvre? Chase Bliss Blooper... The depth of sound mangling is insane. EHX Ravish Sitar, drone and sitar out, dual expressions allows for terrific sounds that you can't get anywhere else. Unconventional use of the EHX Voice Box gets me in strange places as well. NEO Instruments Ventilator II. A leslie rotary that you can use for other things as well, to create weird movements of your sound. Source Audio Ventris, while aimed at realism, can go offbeat through combination of algorithms.

Oh, and EHX Flanger Hoax, though I sold that one. I'm not a fan of phaser / flanger swooshes, as you can recognize the effect way too easily within a field of sound.

Pladask

My weird sounds come from rub a dub reverb into, behringer vibrato, green rainger, drives DOD rubberneck last.
Coming up is a Elektrik Druïde Filter fx , and a Cherry Pie Tremolo, both with sync and the Jamman looper back in the board also synced.

Would like to have the Pladask matrix mixer
