let's see your pedalboard!

Speaking of Man or Astroman? Behold, the ugliest longhorn I've ever seen and I do not like longhorns. It's it going through cell division or something? View attachment 54573
But, it houses the iPad for the samples!!!šŸ˜‚ Still the best live show on the planet. The guitar came with a lifetime backstage pass and I always indulge. They LOVE to talk gear even sweaty after a show with the biggest tear down I’ve seen in a club gig.

I don’t use a board because I like them arranged in a circle around me with some space. But this is my current pedal rig. Sushi box ambassador into the meat box into the lab rat into the circulator and finally the current lover.
I also don't have one. I want one, but I don't have a band, and don't play gigs, so I'm in no hurry, really. And also, I'm constantly adding or removing pedals to try things for my future developments, so it's not practical to have one at the moment.
My setup looks like this right now:

Stoked that most of these were built by me!

A couple things I haven't done build reports for yet, so stay tuned.

EVH phase 90 has been a staple on my board since I got it in 2004.

Vintage DOD stereo chorus is awesome, kind of using it as a Brian May out of phase effect at the moment.

Tuner before the delay so the tails aren't muted šŸ˜‰

Reorganizing. This iteration goes...
Delegate (Boneyard) -> Dung Beetle -> Maleficent Mids -> Greengage -> Frost Drive (CDB mods) -> One Knobber (DAM Meathead Dark) -> Abyss -> Bellum mk1 -> XC Phase -> Precipice -> Magnetron -> Mofeta -> DD5 -> Polara

I still have to clean up the wiring a whole bunch. The vertical ones at the bottom are my staging/audition area. Also shooting out the UVLED greengage versus the more versatile modded frost drive. Haven't got a chance to pump all of these into my Bassbreaker at volume yet so that will help to decide some of the matchups and maybe shift that bottom area. Pedal gladiators begin!

Ooh, that sounds like a cool board. What are the Frost Drive mods? Was the boneyard clipping pot and switch, or something else? This also reminded me that I need to build the Mofeta one day, although the EF120 Overdrive also works very well for me.

I can also insert my updated pedalboard, although I think I will move the Clandestine preamp back to before the drive pedals, and the low tide back to before the delay.

Guitar -> QC (toggleable octaver and whammy tied to the expression pedal) -> Aberration Fuzz -> Fuzz Bender -> Lightspeed -> Sugar Bag -> Frost Drive -> Simulcast -> Chop Shop -> Informant Overdrive -> Pot and Kettle -> Danube Fuzz -> Rainger FX Minibar -> EF120 Overdrive -> back to QC (flanger and univibe, then to a Friedman BE100 + IR and a bit of EQ -> Disaster Transport -> Low Tide -> Moonn Space is Fun (Reverberation Machine) -> Clandestine Preamp -> True Spring.

The toggle mod pulls some dip switches to the external side and adds clipping options. The potentiometer dictates how compressed the drive signal gets. Thing can go from full open tone shaper to a splatty TS almost Fuzz sound. Original post here and mine is very similar in execution. https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/frost-drive-mods-the-ice-scream-sammich.1383/

I really like the Mofeta. It is awesome at taking pedals and giving you a platform that feels more modern than a marshall in a box. Definitely fattens your signal up.

That's a space station.... I can barely fly my kite... very cool board.

Guitar (usually a telecaster) - TU2

Board left: infinite - sea machine (sea horse?) - pauper - informant (with a voice mod and a green ringer) - hoof - hm2 - greengage - space spiral - timeline - memory lane - hydra delay (always on) - trem - 2203 (rip my hearing). There's usually a reverb at the end of this chain (supermoon) but I moved stuff around for recording. I need to do some reorganizing. Half this board has been the same for about a decade now. Usually there's a rat but it's out getting a new footswitch.

Board right: vpjr - freeze - general tso (always on) - grand orbiter - fuzz factory (trying to get this to grow on me but it's not working) - mountain king megalith (with an old madbean cavedweller delay board thrown in for fun) - warscythe - tyrian distortion - mach 1/ss-2 - pro10 - fancy rat - Timmy - carbon copy (always on) - brigadier - levitation - ditto - hitone dr504. This board is more for auditioning things or trying out new sounds when I'm writing. Most of the drives are daisy-chained so it's noisy (new power supply is on my wishlist).

Sick setup dood!!

So much goodness right here.
I swear every few months a have a new favorite board. This one ticks all my boxes.
Black Vibe Pre, JCM pre, Pro10 Blue, Parentheses, Super64, General Tso, DMM, SLO, Sproing.
Jazzmaster - Supro BlackMagick. My old man rig that I would have loved to have as a teenager, but instead I had a no-name knockoff electric into a Crate, with some pawn shop Arion pedals. Although I did upgrade to a Fender bossman head into a 15" and a Fender Strat soon after that garage sale setup... oh how things change over time. Blah blah blah.

Fuzz Factory - tuner - mxr custom comp - barbershop - rat - carcosa - deluxe sovtek big muff - tremolo - bad stone phaser - sea machine - walrus audio Slotva - Digitech digidelay - Foxgear Echosex Baby - Ghost Echo

I want to fill it up but I don't know what to build next... Some extra modulation before the reverbs/delays, a Clandestine preamp after the compressor (that I want to get rid of anyway).
Surely I'll switch to a DIY rat and change the Echosex for a DIY project even if it sounds pretty good

I spent a few days in a cabin by myself and realized I could stand to shake up my board a little.

This is byrdhouse, duocast, simulcast, pot and kettle, polytune 2 mini, aion Luna, obscura, polara, gen loss mkii, deco. The pot and kettle needs to get switched out for something else, and maybe the simulcast. I want to try putting the duocast last in the chain. Perhaps I just need to build a new simulcast and take both other -casts off the board since I don't use the second channel of the duocast.

Dear Will,

I love everything about this.

Thank you,

Dan

Because everyone needs a ā€˜modular’ pedalboard, right? ;)

Built this one a few years ago out some 2ā€x4ā€s, plywood, and a spare Neutrik patchbay. It’s not the lightest thing, but it stays around the house.

Really handy for easily swapping pedal order, feedback patching, etc…

Here's what I've got:
Palmetto Sundew Fuzz (variation on a fuzz face) -> Madbean Uber Tuber -> Patton's Bear Hug compressor (stripboard) -> Yamaha American Monster clone -> PPCB Backfeeder -> Behringer Vintage Delay -> Tuner -> VFE Springboard -> PPCB Minivibe -> Palmetto Choctawhatchee Chorus prototype (variation on a Small Clone) -> Palmetto Appalachicola Tone Booster prototype -> PPCB Hydra Delay -> PPCB Spatialist Reverb -> Hughs and Kettner Redbox DI clone (stripboard)

The Uber Tuber is pretty neat but will get replaced. It's quite dark and needs more voltage than my power supply can give it. It'll be excellent on a small bass board. I'll be looking for an always-on boosty drive to replace it.
