What's your current headache?

I'm supposed to have surgery next month but my healthcare insurance decided to not cover it and deny the request. Waiting on the results of a peer to peer review where my doctor tells the insurance why it's necessary and not just for shits and giggles 🙄
"That healthcare professional needs no healthcare! Think about the shareholders for once. Jeeeez"

I was about to suggest trying your luck to find new old stock Exustars or used in your size. The best bet would be to buy the same brand in your size though.
Perhaps so. To be clear, it's not like manufacturers don't make them (I'm looking at a ~47 usually), it's just for some reason no one has any stock of anything right now :cautious: Few good options popping up in my research, just difficult or impossible to go try...

I just bought my first pair of bike shoes. I had to return two pairs because they don't run true to size. Now I have to install clips and get used to them.

Nice one, enjoy the benefits of clip(less)! It's much easier to get used to than it looks, honestly. But yeah a lot of manufacturers have some wonky sizing.

Same boat... I can never find anything locally. I've used Specialized Sport MTB shoes for a long time, but recently switch to Giro Ranger's. I like a 3 Velcro strap shoe. No buckles or BOA dials please.

If you're an Amazon memeber, I think most of the Giro, Shimano, and fizik (and others?) shoes are avaialable on Prime. It's the easiest way I've found to try on a bunch of sizes with minimal hassle.

Lies! I fell over at so many traffic lights - in front of people that respected me - before giving my clipless pedals away in frustration.
My Trek currently has flats. But the 11-25 makes it hard as he'll to get started after a stop and it's awkward as he'll. I'm afraid I'll make a bigger ass of myself with clipless pedals.

Well, as they say- one door closes, another one opens. Found a really cool job as Operations Manager/Designer/IT/Jack of all Trades with a guy I’ve known for a few years. He’s quite the entrepreneur and has what I think is a multi-million dollar idea. Cool to be kind of on the ground floor. Well, he’s actually been at it for a couple of years and has already been approached for a buyout, but he’s got bigger ideas for it. 👍🏼

Haha that's funny because right now my biggest hangup is finding something with Boas that doesn't cost an arm and a leg; most of the best-rated shoes in the category I'm looking at are actually closed with (gasp) laces, which I am extremely apprehensive about but doesn't seem to bother anyone else. Don't knock it till you try it I guess. Good tip though, thanks. I think I'm gonna make an excursion to a few local shops this weekend and see where I land.

There's always a bit of ass period in learning clipless, lol. I've always ridden SPD but I gave the three-bolt system a try this season and quickly decided I didn't like it, not least because I'd gotten so used to the SPD that I was making an ass of myself repeatedly fumbling the clip-in on the single-sided pedal. Don't know if it's just the particular pedal I was using, but they're also WAY harder to get out of than an SPD at minimum tension.
