Mouser BOMs with better parts quality?

I have looked through this forum and I keep hearing about BOMs existing, but I don't see them. Can someone actually link a file I can download? Additionally, I don't like Tayda. We don't need to get into why or argue over quality. I don't like what they sell. Yes, I KNOW Mouser is more expensive. Thats exactly what I want: to spend more money on better quality. Parts don't have to come from Mouser, but I use them a lot already and it simplifies things for me. If dedicated Mouser BOMs that are easy to find are somehow getting by my searches, please correct me. If what I'm describing doesn't exist, I will be putting them together myself to save others the tedious time it to do. I just didn't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to. Help me out fellas, I'm new here.

There's no official spot for vendor specific BOMs (maybe there should be) but you might find some member submitted BOMs scattered here and there.

What you're probably hearing about are these "pick lists" that I use for building the prototypes. https://forum.pedalpcb.com/forums/project-bom-cheat-sheets.51/

Am I the only that finds it weird that there isn't a "virtual parts kit" kind of thread? Like you buy your board and then just order a parts kit from a vendor or two. Seems simple and very useful. Am I wrong?

Yes, a text list of the parts needed is on all the build docs, I see that. A text file like this is not a BOM. I'm looking for specific parts numbers so that I don't need to weed through all the tedious measurements of a million 1uf 50v caps, for example.

I like this AionFX guy!

The gold standard

Gold is corrosion-resistant with excellent electrical conductivity, resulting in better connections that last longer. Aion FX kits use gold-plated PCB pads, IC sockets, and footswitch contacts. It doesn't come cheap, but it's worth the extra expense for reliability.

This is the main reason why many of us go with Tayda. Their quality has improved over the years. That being said, not everything is up to snuff for some people. Personally, I've always used them for most of my inventory with a handful of exceptions. I've had no issues with passive components from them (resistors and caps), but I can see why people go elsewhere for enclosures, switches, and/or pots. I'm a cheap ass and don't want to pay extra shipping if I don't have to.

It's more of choose your own adventure kind of hobby. Some times you just have to put in the work.
If you want to use mouser, you're going to have to use the filters.
If you use mouser regularly , you should know how to use the filters.

A BOM isn't a mouser cart. It's a bill of materials. A text file.
Sure, if your text file has PART numbers, its a BOM. Just telling me the value of a part isn't that useful with so many other details missing. But you're right, a Mouser cart would be useful as I can convert that to a proper BOM.

Forgive me if I'm a little gruff, guys. I'm here to help, not to complain. I just a see a hole in this DIY PCB thing you got going here and I'm trying to patch it if I can. If it is unnecessary, I'm not seeing it yet.

I'm coming here from the world of tube amps. I don't worry so much about the size and shape of parts with that stuff. But here it looks critical. I ordered a bunch of parts and most of them barely wouldn't fit the boards I bought. IS this not a common issue that would be alleviated with a simple repository of properly sourced BOMs?

If I have to put in the work, I will. And then I'll save others that silly process. I was just checking to see if it had been done before. I guess it hasn't.

I would call "slightly less shitty" not enough of an endorsement for me. I have a friend that circuit bends and he has to vet every single part he buys from them and gets a ridiculous failure rate that is close to erasing his "savings". I want to build these things one time, reliably, and not have to mess with the process of sorting garbage.

AionFX doing it right. I'm liking his site, but still not finding BOMs over there either.

What to avoid

Avoid buying metal film resistors from eBay or Tayda Electronics. I’ve never gotten any that tested bad, but the leads are extremely thin and they feel flimsy. They also fit poorly in sockets and breadboards because of this. High-quality ones are not expensive at all, so don’t settle.

We use 99% jellybean parts.
Some want 10 cent caps. Some want high end film in foil. How many "BOMs" should be made, 1 cheap, 1 high end, maybe a third that's middle of the road. Then they need to be maintained as parts reach EOL...
It's all 1/4 resistors. 5mm films, PDIPs and 2.5mm electros here(if my memory is correct).
It's just part of the hobby. You have to figure out how to order parts.
Aion puts out carts, but Aion also as a much lower output than PPCB/Robert. It's not feasible. Especially if one wants to use higher end components because that cart probably won't have it.
If you need help ordering parts, ask, or better yet, search the forum and check out the dozens of threads on it, then ask.
Sorry if this comes off harsh but the desire for instant fulfillment in everything in society now is freaking unnerving. Some times you just got a put the time in and do the work.

Buddy, I have been ordering parts since the 90s. I know how to do it and I know how much work it is. I'm trying to avoid it if there is already an easy place to find the info I seek. I'm not one of those instant gratification folks, not by a long shot. I'm just an avoid reinventing the wheel kind of guy.

And yeah, "cheap garbage", "acceptable", and "what you really want, but are too cheap to buy" lists would be great!

There is a link on each project page on the Aionfx website. It has a spreadsheet with parts # and everything. You literally copy and paste the whole thing into the mouser BOM import and it’s there.
