Synth Nerds - Buchla PCBs

I’ve been looking at Eurorack etc again, for the last three days — as always there is some cool freq’n’ schtuff found, goodies that would be awesome to port to pedals… but the price always puts me off.

A DIY pedal-Muff kit is about $50;
A DIY Eurorack-Muff is $150, min…

Here’s a Euro-Muff with CV control over all parameters. $95 full kit:

Re: Buchla, it’s always been the spendiest modular format, by a few orders of magnitude. Those prices aren’t that crazy, relatively speaking, for multi-PCB + Pro-quality Panel sets 🤷‍♀️
I haven’t built that specific one but have quite a few Frequency Central modules in my rack(s). I have found that their stuff is reliable and usually fairly simple to assemble. Their Roland VCO and VCF (System M or some such) sound fab IMO.

I’ve noticed how my old favourite haunts for modular stuff have now become very expensive. The cost of postage from the US for modular panels and PCBs is now well beyond my means. So, UK or Europe for the immediate future, I suppose.

Or I’ll build ‘em myself, he muttered.
