Black Friday / Cyber Week 2025 deals - anything cool coming?

had my eye on some wireless headphones. These are the ones I was looking at. $250 off Sennheiser Momentum 4 ($199). And $50 off AIAIAI ($249).

Was kinda hoping the Boss GK5-KIT-G6 synth installation kit would get knocked down a few bucks but I guess it's too niche to be worth the sale. $439 everywhere is a bit too steep.

I wonder if the newer submarine pickups are capable of subbing for a boss hex pickup

Submarine pickups are running 30% off
The previous post led me to their site to check and I found the sale.

That's pretty slick. They've changed the hex system on the new gm-800 to a serial arrangement that uses a TRS cable instead of 13 pin. Renders previous installations useless unless you buy their translation box. Which I did. The new pickup system seems to trigger a bit cleaner.

I've always wanted to put together a (6) pak of overdrive/distortion though and the Submarine would be a cool trick for that. I was always fascinated by the ARP Avatar Hex Fuzz (the intro to Pete Townsend's Rough Boys). What I SHOULD do is find the female 13pin connector and make my own little hex fuzz.

Couple things.

First off: new spindle. 1.5kw, six pole motor, with a VFD. 6000RPM top speed: most in this range are at like 24,000 rpm...at those speeds it's difficult to get your stepper motors to turn fast enough to get a good chip load.

Gonna have to run a new 230v line to feed it, but its got enough power to seriously carve through some shit.

And... Probably not gonna go on the anolex. Got another, bigger CNC in the works that its gonna be mounted on.

Second: gantry fiber laser. Can actually engrave on bare aluminum! Burn baby burn!
