Anyone jumping in on this deal? Sounds interesting, though it's a gamble as to how useful it ends up being. No preview before the limited purchase window closes. Just some sort of manual that teases potential. Horrible practice.

You basically record whatever via one input, and that data starts interacting in various ways with your actual playing through the second input.

Don't care about all the talk of formants and vocodering, but as a hands-on basic resynthesis tool, it might end up doing good things for me. I kinda decided on limiting myself to buying digital from now on anyway, and this maths series might be something worth collecting.

It's actually quite different, as the recorder part takes input from a different instrument altogether. So the pecularities of one instrument can be used to play another one.

Totally, I meant it more in spirit. I would sigh equally hard if my bandmates showed up to a gig with either one but would absolutely love to get my hands on both for a try.
 
I've been tempted by that one, but the more they release the less I think I would use it. The idea seems interesting, but the teaser story on IG showing it being used on guitar didn't do much to get me excited

I'm also not sure of the "BUY NOW WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING OR NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN" approach. So many companies praying on FOMO lately (but I get it---do what you've got to do to survive as a small business)

Sounds like this essentially is a vocoder, using the recorded loop as the Modulator, and your live input as the Carrier.

Could be a useful combo.

If you’ve already got a vocoder with separate Modulator and Carrier inputs (and you certainly should!), you probably know you can do all kinds of cool stuff with it, besides ‘70/80s electro robot voice.

Ahh, good ol 4th grade recorder ensemble. But I replaced that association long ago with the intro of Stairway To Heaven.

I seriously considered making the Habit the main delay on my band board- it’s one of the few that seems to cover all my bases. It still felt to niche/specific for the price though.

The gamechanger stuff always felt like the pedal itself is the art, more than a utility for creating art.
 
We got this so called band over here, which is more of a collective, that allows people with all sorts of mental challenges to express themselves through music, on national theatre / television and such. You kinda take it like "4th grader ensemble" in that you allow yourself to be taken in by their enjoyment, not the quality of the music. So, with that out of the way, here we have someone playing the recorder, or "blockflute". You can't help but smile / laugh, because it's ridiculous on many levels, but you don't feel bad because it's beautiful and with heart as well; it's been recorded to make you happy for a few seconds.

A video demo is finally available:

Some interesting stuff there (mostly in the second half, for me, at least). And I could see some fun live or sound design uses, but still not quite sure
 
Hmm. Just realized it also has MIDI. The more I read through the manual the more I'm getting interested and realizing there's a lot they didn't yet show in the video. I also get the impression it's not totally finished yet (the email sharing the video mentioned it's already been updated in several ways)

Thanks for posting that video! I have no social media anymore so that update went past me. Yeah I am pretty sure I'm going to purchase it after seeing what it does. It seems to be more fun for jamming than for recording, I think. Or maybe for stuffing the final sounds into an actual sampler. It feels like a happy accident machine...

I do like how gamechanger uses post-punk / coldwave to market their pedals. It's not something I like listening to every day, and their take is a bit too... Clean (unsurprising, as sales need to happen on a larger demographic than those). But it sure sits closer to me than all the demos you hear being done with Chase Bliss and OBNE pedals. That always feels like a gamble, because they make interesting stuff, but look at music from their own angle that makes it sometimes hard to pinpoint how well it would work for me.

Yeah, I caved this morning and ordered. Sold a few things recently and this seems fun enough to give a shot. I'll probably get hosed on duties, etc. coming in to Canada, but we'll see

Oh, I wanted to buy it tomorrow morning, in the last few hours of the offer. To still my curiosity of units sold by having one of the last units.:)

I never had an eye on Gamechanger, but I bought the plasma and light as well in the last couple of days. 🙈
