That's oversized...

I'd switch it up, put it in far more confined quarters... more like 1590A.

This is been interesting to follow the past few days…

Poster has been spamming a bunch of gear related subs including diypedals with this nonsensical “mod” involving 18V pedals, a Vox AC15, and a 12BH7. Also claims to be pursuing a patent and offering to license the design.
I opened two tabs, this one and the JHS Big Muff 2 thread, I saw the JHS logo & header, got them mixed up and thought the JHS marketing department had some kind of stroke.

As bad as Reddit is, I found some useful posts there. We have to start somewhere and I know I was clueless at the beginning. I mean, I still don't know how a transistor works, I still don't know what biasing is. I can build a simple circuit from a schematic but I never left the paint-by-numbers stage. So I will never make fun of clueless people who are there to learn.

What I will never understand, on Reddit and elsewhere, is the people who ask strangers what they should buy/play/like, and to rate their rig. I think it's a generational thing. Back in my days we had to figure things out for ourselves, go to the library, fiddle around, etc, there was no internet to spoonfeed us info. Nowadays people ask total strangers if they should buy a red watch or a black watch. Like dude, how can we tell you what you should like?

What I don't understand is when someone asks "what _____ should I buy" and they don't buy what I suggested. Why even ask? My opinion is the only valid one

Everyone starts at zero and learns from there, even if your zero was a long time ago.

One of the things I like most about the diy pedal community is people helping others figure things out and troubleshoot. I think it benefits all of us to welcome and teach newer people the hobby we enjoy instead of tearing them down. A lot of this thread really bums me out.

It bums me out when people are offered help and become argumentative 😑
