I finished this one up about a month ago now. I think I'm going to change out the mode knob to match the others. I was thinking I wanted a different knob to indicate to the user that it's a switch, but it's offending my sense of symmetry.

It's my standard, rustic hand-stamped finish. When and if I ever get around to beautifying the pedals I've been building lately, I'll Bondo over the lettering, sand flat, and paint. For now, I kind of like the rustic thing.

I spontaneously took a notion to get fancy with the footswitch. It looks marginally better in person, and the camera angle / lens distortion make it look like the ground and input wires are way closer than they are in reality. They're 20 AWG. If something hits the pedal hard enough to short them, it's going to have way worse problems than than the short.

Easy layout to solder and parts to source.

I've never played through a real Big Cheese, but to my ear it's close enough to the demos to satisfy me.

I'm slowly warming up to fuzz in general — so take my opinion with a grain of salt — but the different modes on it make it a contender for consideration in an if-I-could-only-have-one-of-the-genre-on-my-board category.

I get it, I keep saying I'm not a fuzz guy but I have like 30 fuzzes I've built and I'm down in the transistor rolling rabbit hole even as we speak (or type heh). I have a love/hate thing going on with fuzzes.

FUZZ ! ! !
