Rolling sustaining distortion. Even though there are multiple switches it is basically a distortion pedal with some ability to dial in other similar tones. Harmonically rich but not all that versatile IMO. You can play with the switches and change from the different distortions and the hi-cut does what it says - turning clockwise cuts highs. Great fun build and I love switches.

I used different colors on the switch tips to identify switches that control cabinet and voice. The Derailer faceplate and the PPCB top jack plate really make for a clean build. I also ordered the Fresnel 3mm LED bezel from Amplified Parts that is a perfect fit. The knobs are 15mm silver and the footswitch is a LMS soft click. The switches are all Taiway. The jacks are Switchcraft and the enclosure is from LMS. It takes some careful drilling in order to get everything lined up perfect.

FYI- I see problems inside my previous build report. It Looks like three of my 2n2 caps were supposed to be 2u2 MLCC. If I remember that build it was flubby. It worked but just not as tight as this distortion.

Also just saw this Ethos price. Yikes

Nice build !

You know there's a mod to get more usable range on the volume and Gain pots with A10k pots ?
It's a very useful mod for this circuit in my experience, makes it easier to dial some low to medium gain sounds.

The build docs wants some expensive OPA2134 for this circuit, but standard TL72 sound exactly the same, so i'd suggest to keep these OPA2134
for another circuit where you can really use them.

Thanks - I never even looked to see if there were mods. Next time I will experiment.
