I had posted an earlier version of this circuit smashing, but the original pedal was in a 1590XX box. I thought that box was too big, so I created another version to fit in a 1590BB2 box.

To refresh memories, the Univibe portion is based on Aionfx’s Straylight. The overdrive section is based on Chuck’s Emperor, which is based off of the King of Tone. These are my two most used circuits which is why I wanted to do this project.

To fit into the 1590BB2, I created stacked boards. The power and preamp sections of the Univibe and most of the overdrive circuit are on the top board and the rest found on the lower board.

I agree, a king of tone and univibe are the perfect combination, i pair them both all the time.

What enclosure is that? I really like the finish.

The box is from @StompBoxParts. It is their Aqua Vein color. It is one of my favorites.


We need a demo, I'd like to hear this thing. 🤘

That is the plan. I need the family out of the house. I like to record at levels under appreciated by the family. 😂
 
How did you go about sharing the power with the Univibe and overdrive? Do you get any lfo tick?

Purposefully, I kept the circuits completely separate, including power. I did that to help myself troubleshoot any issues.

As for the Univibe’s LFO, etc, the power for the Univibe and drive are mainly on the top board. The power for the main board is also routed through pin headers to get close to where it was needed, eliminating any close relationship with the LFO.
