Those WIMA 1uf 3.5mm Box Caps

This hasn't really come up in my builds yet, and for most of my applications a big stupid 1uf Kemet box or X7R MLCC will do.

For those situations where ya really need that small footprint in a super stable capacitor, what have you all been using? These Kemets I guess? I looked into c0g MLCCs in that capacitance and found bupkis...

I still have several dozen of the 3.5mm 50V Wimas in stash, but heve been starting to use SMD tantalums or aluminum electrolytics in less critical coupling spots. I’ve also revised nearly all my open source preamp and EQ boards to work with TDK polyester caps in the 1-3.3uF value range.
 
If it's for decoupling , you can often use a smaller cap too. gotta check the math if there's a resistor to ground after it(hot) but if it's straight up decoupling, you won't hear a diff in a slightly smaller cap.

Are you referring to these TDKs? EDIT: hmm maybe not - didn't notice "Stock: 0" Ha!

Yep I've done that before. I mostly just use 1uf mlccs since I'm making fuzz pedals; I can't imagine an X7R would make a huge difference in performance/noise floor with an already distorted signal, but I could be wrong! I've built the same circuit with both film and X7R MLCC and haven't noticed a difference, although the real test may be to try them in extreme hot or cold I suppose.
