I love headroom, but some pedals like this one may have too much. It is turbo charged and surprising like the PPCB Slammer. When this circuit is at 11:00 on the volume it is loud. This circuit can dial up distortion which I find slightly unharmonic but fully saturated. The tone knob functions great and can really dial in highs - I did not have a C25k potentiometer on hand for the tone knob so I found a C50k that measured 52k+ and I soldered a 51k resistor across the outer lugs of the potentiometer which gave me a C26k pot- see images. This circuit uses hardly any parts but it has a big voice.

I used a Tayda lawn green 125b enclosure and I applied a waterslide decal. I then protected it with Spraymax 2k clear. For knobs I used two white Davies 1510 and one white Davies 1611. I used a PPCB top jack plate and enclosed jacks. A bezel-less red diffused 3mm LED (1/8th" hole). ]

I am glad that I made it. This can function as a high volume overdrive that is also a distortion pedal.

Notes
  1. You can fit this in a 1590b if you mount the Iu film caps under the board or lay them down - also the two 47u electrolytic caps would need to be low profile. PPCB sells them.
  2. You need a C25k potntiometer
  3. You need a 150n film cap which does not seem very common

Isn’t this supposed to be their take on a Tubescreamer?
They made it seem like a Klon with Klon knobs and a 1590BB... but they painted it green like a TS. To my ear this thing is a transparent OD that can dial up more aggressive distortion than a TS.

They are $250 from Greer but you can build one for a small fraction of that... and you know you will! lol

That looks great!

It's a bufferless Tubescreamer with an extra clipping diode and the mid hump frequency shifted down to 300-ish Hz.
Thank you! I like how it came out.
To my ears it seems a bit looser and wide open than a TS when saturated and it has loads more clean and transparent boost/od.
