New albums

wow, that was pretty negative...and broadbrush

On the upside..there is WAY more exposure to new and great music regardless of venue.

If I had to try to describe which aspects of it I really like, I'd probably say something like "90's indie/lo-fi/art rock" I guess. haha. Hopefully that makes sense.
Dude totally forgot to reply, not been active too much recently. Off the top of my head Edinburgh School of the Deaf, Dananananakroyd, arab strap, algernon doll, the nectarine no.9, the twilight sad, womps, man of moon, Idlewild, aereogramme and forest fires all come to mind. theres other bands that are not that similar like , frightened rabbit, we were promised jetpacks and mogwai that people really dig from the scene and your more likely to be aware of them. I'd also chuck in Biffy clyros second album specifically. The rough and plucky guitar tone on that album is quite similar to life without buildings, but there's more of a janky alt rock edge to it.

Ya know, I'm a big fan of Gojira but the singles off their upcoming album sound pretty flaccid. Generic. "Stock" as Lars would say. It feels very radio-rock uninspired singalong bs. What we call "softcock" out here.

That's a shame man.
I wouldn't go that far I'd say it's better than that, but I would say it's poor form for them. Anytime I've listened to the new singles it has just made want to stick on from Mars to Sirius

Here's an album I thought I'd share with you guys, FUUDGE 2020's "Fruit Dieu".
They're a stoner/psych rock band from Québec. Evidently, they're signing in French, and they're not reinventing the wheel, but I like them and it's nice here because we don't have a ton of that kind of sound in the local scene.

Oh aye definitely, FMTS, TWOF and sauvage are the three. And then it dipped with magma but there's a couple of cuts on that album that I dig
Same here, it's a nice mixup but man Magma is so short. It's done in a car ride and I've a pet peeve with instrumental tracks that don't really add anything like the last track on there. Vague scents of self indulgence.

I've been listening to Black Crown Initiate lately. That's some cool shit if you're on the prowl.

Of course I always am, why do you think I made this thread? Haha

Antarctigo Vespucci - Leavin' La Vida Loca is a great album.
Right on; I did not expect to see someone mention Chris Farren in this thread. This just goes to show that maybe I would meet more people who listen to some of the same stuff as me if I was less presumptuous.

I presume that you listen to Jeff Rosenstock too? haha...

Funny to hear Karnivool mentioned. My last band - a rockabilly/jump blues kinda band - had a very good drummer. His son is in Karnivool! Small world etc.

Man that Life Without Buildings sounds like old Altered Images and stuff like that from the 80s. Lots of bands like that around where I'm from back then.

I do! Between the two of them, I think I prefer Chris Farren's stuff over Jeff's stuff but I do enjoy both. Any other recs for us? :)
