Greetings,
This is my first post in nearly a decade (on other forums, not this one). So, I thought I would introduce myself a little and share my story, in case anybody would like to know
I am not new to building pedals, but I have taken a long break from the hobby (marraige, kids, Divorce & life in general). I started back up last year (2020), re-supplying with parts and a list of over 100 pedals I would like to build. Currently, I have 5 done and 2 in process. (I will add pictures to this post.)
A lot has happened since 2007! Mammoth is gone and now Small Bear is going away as well. It is good to see that some of the old sites and sources are still around. I started on Tonepad and built a few pedals, that still work to this day! I will say that I will not miss etching my own boards! PedalPCB and Aion FX are my two sources for board sources and they are much better quility that I could do on my own, besides, they are way cooler and look professional!
I could probably write a novel on my experiences, failures and sucesses, nevertheless, I will summerize that my building skills and labeling have greatly improved. It may be due to the fact that I have the funds to invest in better tools and equipment.
I have never been good at writing about myself, so if you have any questions I will reply, as long as it is not too personal!
In closing, I am very happy to see that the pedal community is alive and well! In fact, I think the hobby is larger than before! It is good to be back!
Pedals built from May 2020 - Aug 2021:
Dead Rat Distortion = Pro Cro RAT
Cherry Bomb = Ibanez Tube Screamer
Tremble = 4ms Tremulus Lune
The Compressor = Cornish OC-1 Optical Compressor
The Sustainer = Ross Compressor
If you would like more info or pics of the pedals let me know. *Edit* I would like to clarify the the pedals in the list are the newer build. I will dig up one of my builds from over 10 years ago and show you what my old work looked like. Also to further clarify, one of my failures was etching boards, in fact, not one etched board worked for me. Guess my talents are not etching!
