    Mister Fuzz

Very nice! I have a few 2n270s on-hand and they measure right around there for hfe.

    Mojo parts N.E.W. npn buzzaround

Hey Feral Feline, sorry but that's not something we sell at the moment, just the best pic I had on-hand for showing off the PR02s in use. That circuit is based on (but not exactly) the WEM Project V and is just something I put together for my own use. We might sell a similar board in the future...

Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

That Pg.99 album is great - my favorite screamo release is Gospel's The Moon is a Dead World. It's a pretty interesting blend of styles, and I love their drummer.

If the resistor footprints are the common 1/2W size, I like Vishay PR02 resistors for that. They're metal film and remind me of some old Piher types, although they're not quite as dark.

Few different pedal builds on eyelet & stripboard

Do you like the master volume on the Buzzaround? I've built a couple stock Buzzarounds and felt like the Balance control (as odd as its implementation is) works as an effective volume control. I didn't find much of a timbre difference in its rotation, but maybe it'd be more noticeable with a...

Few different pedal builds on eyelet & stripboard

These all look great - really digging the artwork on them too. The Buzzaround's art is a great look for the bare enclosure.

breadboarding (tone bender MkII, MkI, fuzz face, big muff)

Don't worry about the exact Q1 voltage. Q1 base voltage will be equal to Q1 Vbe since the emitter is grounded (0V). The Vbe will change some depending on how much current is flowing into (or out of, depending on NPN/PNP) the base, with more current making for a larger voltage drop, but it's not...

    1590lb builds

To me, the colorsound one (or in this case zero) knob fuzz and similar squeeze the most out of a very simple circuit. Put it first in the chain and your guitar's volume control can work as an effective "fuzz amount" control.

    TL072CP Op Amp Differences

That tracks with our testing although so far I don't believe we've had cause to test Ices directly, but we do have the means to if needed. When leakage parameters are given in the datasheets we are comparing against we typically see Icbo or Iceo values which is always part of our tests. The %...

    TL072CP Op Amp Differences

It varies a bit depending on what we’re inspecting and the source, but we start with a visual inspection. We're fortunate enough to have access to a lot of desirable semiconductor types from various manufacturers from the work we do here and from the personal collections of the builders we have...

    TL072CP Op Amp Differences

To the best of our knowledge, our current stock is the Unizon 1N34A as seen on this page. Keep in mind that the brands we carry (and our sister company AES/tubesandmore carries) for NOS products can change unless stated otherwise as we work to maintain stock of an item that is only getting more...

    Why would anybody

These were designed in-house to match vintage spec and then custom-made for our customers. The price reflects that process - we'd make it cheaper if we could! We're always looking to reduce costs so if we find a way to do it, we will. We are hoping to fill a gap in the market for folks looking...

I've had Rainbow's Rising on repeat this week. I think it's my favorite album of Dio's:
