SOLVED Caesar Chorus, both leds working, but ZERO sound at all…

Agreed that it’s probably the trimmer. There is a VERY small range where the pedal will work properly. A DMM is a surer bet, but you can probably just adjust in small increments while playing until it works. One nice thing about this project is that it’s obvious whether or not the trimmer is...

All Time Most Bestest Favoritest Chorus You Have Owned , Played or Heard?

It may or not be right for you depending on what kind of chorus sound you’re going for, but my favorite is actually the PPCB Unison.

Is the Zorkmid overdrive what think it is?

Hey Paul, thanks for your immensely influential contributions to the pedal industry. Will there be a waiting list or somewhere we could buy one of your pedals that you-think-we-think-this-may-be directly from you?

SOLVED No sound from Parentheses Fuzz (first build)

I believe that in this circuit the octave only has an effect when the distortion is turned on, so it’s not surprising that you aren’t hearing anything if the distortion isn’t working. Next steps would be a visual inspection - check each joint to make sure it is soldered well, then double check...

    What’s This Sound?

Wait, really!?!? Wow, I've never gotten an MXR Phase 90 to sound like that. Which is totally surprising because, uhh, I sound just like that guy otherwise. Yep. Definitely.

    What’s This Sound?

One of my all time favorite clean tones is the “watery” sound in the second guitar solo of Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione. It sounds like some sort of filter, but I can’t tell if it’s a phaser, flanger, vibe, or if he’s somehow doing it with a wah pedal. The rhythm guitar seems to use a wah...

End of chain buffer combo question

Oooh interesting! Now I’m glad that I qualified my answers above with “usually” and “most of the time”. 🙂 You may very well hear a difference with and without a buffer after the Clandestine then - depending on how long your cable run from pedalboard to amp is. Let your ears be your guide! A lot...

End of chain buffer combo question

Good question! I think it’s to counteract the impact of capacitance due to any cabling between your last enabled pedal and the end of your board. If you’re always running out of an enabled pedal directly to the amp, it shouldn’t be needed (usually)

End of chain buffer combo question

Lots of hype for the Clandestine lately! I need to get off my rear and build one. If you plan to leave the Clandestine on all the time there’s a good chance that having a buffer after it is pointless, as most pedals these days are designed with a low impedance output. I’ll leave the analysis...
