It’s that liquid-y metallic sound I’m telling ya! I’ve always found the mids in the CE-2 to be either too much or in the wrong place too. Plus-I can replicate a CE-2 with an old CE-5 with the right settings. I couldn’t tell in an AB test. Guarantee I could pick any small stone or mistress out of...
I don’t own ANY of those pictured. That DEM was mine and I do have a big black box Russian, the last of the two old units I kept, but I agree. They were shit! I was introducing visuals to the thread.
Depends on your pedal building skills. I’m building the Golden Falk now but I love the sound and simplicity of the Black Mountain. It can rock. The Plexi-Drive couldn’t get heavy enough for me but it was authentic sounding.
Looking forward to what all is gonna be in this series. EHX modulation pedals have a unique sound too them. Almost a liquid and metallic type top end but just the right amount. They’re my favorite as well and are also the reason I got into even using pedals. Pretty soon after I was chasing each...
I’ve been getting mine from stompboxparts with no complaints. A good drill template, self tapping screw and unibit and I can have it drilled in 15 minutes. I always use a smaller bit to drill through the tap before moving on to the uni-bit though. I do wish they had more colors to choose from...
It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Marshall got the idea to use parallel channels in a pedal from someone else. 😂😂😂
It’s a decent sounding pedal. Takes a lot of finding the right balance of high and low knobs and has one hell of a midrange frequency that could be dialed down a touch or even...
Nice! I remember playing one for the first time thinking it sounded like arse…got Keeley to mod it and thought it sounded great. That was in 96 I believe and i somehow still have the receipt!
Being derived from a Skreddy circuit I had to build it and I’m glad I did! This thing rocks! I think I like it more than the Diamond Peak. To me it’s more amp like. Doesn’t have as much gain but that could be down to transistor choice and biasing of the Diamond Peak. Great touch response and...
I like PastFx but I’m gonna have to agree with you on both of these statements. I don’t find the blend control all too useful and the pedal is already too bright rendering the bright control useless. Wanna trade for a Monktress?? I’d prefer to have the newer PastFx Deluxe Matresse as I seem to...
I wasn’t aware of this pedal. I wish it was the PastFx Revolution! Verlie’s take on the G2…as I think it’s different than the Buffalo Fx version. The Revolution also has a mids knob that’s called “contour” and also thought it had an extra gain stage as it’s hotter than your standard G2 clone but...
