Re-painting pedal knobs to custom colors

I make 2 part molds so it has the shaft included. I also mount brass inserts in the mold when I cast so it gets cast into the knob. I use jigs and a CNC or drill press to drill and tap the holes. I've seen some of swedenknobs products on reverb. They do a great job! I have some of their...

Re-painting pedal knobs to custom colors

I'd say casting is gonna be more durable. If you have the ability to make the molds then it is pretty easy. If you want set screws you'll need to be able to drill and tap threads for those. I enjoy casting knobs. You can really get a lot of different variations of colors.

    Enclosure Drilling

I’ve used a CNC to mill the holes. Works awesome. You do need to be able to position the enclosure the same way every time if you are doing multiple. I made a jig to hold the enclosure and set a repeatable origin. The key for me was to create the jig and enclosure cutouts together, then copy...

Crate V33 head powering issue (gut shots included)

As a starter, I calculated the secondary for a replacement pt should be around 225-0-225. That is taking the rectified voltage and dividing it by 1.414. You also need to make sure the new PT will handle the current of the power tubes. Also, you will have to add a new rectification circuit to...

Crate V33 head powering issue (gut shots included)

Yeah, the stock power supply circuit looks exceedingly over complicated. You still have a transformer in the mix, and it’s fairly standard layout on the secondary side, but the junk before the primary just seems a little excessive when it comes to a power supply for an amplifier. Or maybe I’m...

Crate V33 head powering issue (gut shots included)

Almost seems easier to get a power transformer and build a power supply :ROFLMAO:

I need a good first tube project

That sound very interesting! Imma hafta check that out! I've had a AB763 project on the hold for a while. Working out a dual channel AB763 and some kind of high gain modern metal type circuit. Was basing most of the clean channel off the Hoffman 1 channel AB7673. I've built the P1EX, SEL...

I need a good first tube project

When I started the AX84 site was still up and active. That was a great resource. There are schematics for SE, PP, pre amps, power amps and others like parallel SE. I know there were a site or two listing the resources or a copy of the dead site. I used a cake pan for my first build, an AX84...

Radio Pickup on a Black Ash Clone?

I’m not so sure it would be the pedal in particular. The other day I was playing through a high gain pedal and heard an Asian lady preaching. Bypass pedal, no preaching. Next day a couple of guys talking about religion, bypass the pedal, suddenly I lost my religion😜 It just makes what is...

SOLVED Ungula Cleft Mod - Pinout orientation for MPSA13 transistors?

Pretty sure the extra middle hole is there for cross-compatibility between the different transistor package types. Should be able to use either hole in the middle/bottom for the base.

    RAT SALAD (A modified RAT)

That's some fine work! I really dig that look for the PCB! It looks like a nice clean layout! I'm using the same power connecters on my power jacks. Makes it so much easier to remove the whole thing, plus the power jack can be wired outside the enclosure!
