I don't think an additional EQ is necessary. The pedal is versatile enough.

I love the sound of my Traynor TS-50B. I knew about the Rusty Box, but I didn't like the format of this pedal. So I decided to build my own version. Initially, I chose the "landscape" format: I found that impractical for the pedal-board. So I built a "portrait" version:
