    SOLVED Busted TS9 - Troubleshooting

Yep, I’m with @giovanni on this… start a new thread, put pictures, voltage readings, etc. This thread is marked solved, so it won’t get the attention you seek. Good luck…

    Two LED’s in One Question…

Oh... yes... Switch off, both color off... switch on, solid color and blinking "mixed" color for rate... that's what I understand.

    Two LED’s in One Question…

Not sure why you're saying that the rate led doesn't go to ground... according to schematic, it does:

    New Pedal Builder Suggestions

You don't necessarily need to start with a kit, I didn't and I knew nothing about electronics when I started (and in a way, I still don't). To paraphrase a friend, PPCBs are soldering by numbers... It's really easy to start straight from a PPCB as long as you're willing to source your parts...

    New Pedal Builder Suggestions

Welcome aboard... it's a great hobby ! I'm afraid I can't make any suggestions on specific pedals for a Bass, however I think you need to consider the complexity of the pedal you are selecting for the first few projects. In essence, the more component there are, the more chance you'll have to...

SOLVED Well, damn...first lifted pad. Salvageable?

Then you’re good to go… word of advice, at the price of a socket, cut the leg off and simply remove on leg at the time. Much less chances of pulling a pad. Or like you said, just leave it reverse… ;)

Bypass when on, mute when off

Glad you got it working @MacGuffin_ ! Nice work !

Bypass when on, mute when off

Nah you don't easy to build one.. https://www.diypedalgearparts.com/en/novita/26_Audio-probe-how-to-build

Bypass when on, mute when off

OK so bypass works and when you engage you have no sound... Does D2 blinks ? If you don't get any light on D2 I think you need focus on this part of the circuit first. You should also get an audio probe to trace the signal from input to each stages... I would check the voltage on Q1 and...

Bypass when on, mute when off

Hmmm when I read this: I understood "turn on the switch" as effects on and "I turn it off" as in bypass.... As for the LDR, I looked them up and they provide 500K when dark and 10 to 20K at 10 lux. 10 lux is not a lot, so unless yours were snug enough to the LED to dim the light under 10 lux...

Bypass when on, mute when off

I didn't look at the circuit in details, but saw the LDR, if they are Resistance when dark (or probably even the opposite), how could there be an effect when the LDR catches light ? My thinking is, in his description he has 2 problems. No effect when pedal is turned on (Could be caused by...

Bypass when on, mute when off

Just a simple observation, are you testing in the dark, ie:, make sure the LDRs are not catching ambient light ?

Stuff you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

That's actually very useful, you should not delete them from now on, makes our troubleshooting easier when trying to pin point the exact connection in the schematic relative to the board.

    Mister Fuzz not F..uzzing

I’m no pro, so take this for what’s it’s worth… I think your first set of transistors (Ac151s ?) hfe were to high… stuff I’ve read about fuzz circuit usually talks about hue of 30-150… From what I understand you want lower hfe in the first fuzz stage and a higher one in the second stage. For...
