    Tube Amp recommendations

I have a cheap small 5w vox tube amp. The speaker does suck as do a lot of smaller amps. Best thing I did to it was add a speaker output jack. The thing sounds great through a larger cab.

    First Tube Build

Yeah. I've been doing that for years, mostly to tell myself what happened in case something does go wrong in the future. Also cool to see the dates when i made stuff.

    First Tube Build

Found a value tube 12au7 for ¥100 at a shop here in Japan($1). Thought I'd give this old layout a try after many years of wanting to. Basically similar to the Chandler tube driver's tube end section. Which many of you know as a Matsumin valvecaster. I started breadboarding the Chandler up...

Tube pedal with parallel tap. Voltage regulator or voltage divider

Thanks. I might just buy a separate 12 v adapter and leave it as is. Seems like a hassle and a lot of wasted power.

Tube pedal with parallel tap. Voltage regulator or voltage divider

I've made a simple tube overdrive with a single 12au7. Which has a 9 pin that can split the two heaters in pins 4&5 to run in parallel. So I can run the two heaters at 6 volts each to total the 12 volts the tube likes to see. In series I run it at 9 volts and it still sounds great, just less...

    Treble bleed PCB

https://guitarnuts2.proboards.com/thread/5317/treble-bleed-circuit This is the gospel on all things treble bleed. Check the whole tread for the frequency graphs. One is not "better" than the other.

Tayda Electronics - Have you got photos of these colours? Brown Sugar, Black Sand Texture, Grey Sand Texture

Well I have a bunch of light on it. It's a tad dark, but there is a lot of sparkle

SOLVED How to reverse "flipped" PNP circuit back to positive ground?

I build a lot of these. You could wire it up without a board. The yellow one in back has a leg free for the pot. The bottom rail wire is the +9v. The front one is for a full on all the time with no pot on the collector Also the yellow one is missing a power cap. I ran out.

SOLVED How to reverse "flipped" PNP circuit back to positive ground?

That schematic is drawn oddly. The 9v + is written twice, and is meant to be all ground wires. -9v is all power. If the diode isn't the right way or the caps +/- isnt seeing the same polarity it also won't work. Don't have any other pedals plugged into the power supply or daisy chain.

SOLVED How to reverse "flipped" PNP circuit back to positive ground?

This is a good reference schematic for all types. https://www.tonefiend.com//wp-content/uploads/DIY%20Club%20Project%204%20v03.pdf

Also remove that diode you had. It might be backwards. And yes flip the caps and + and -.

Can you prolong a germanium transistor's life?

They sound the same as my nicer ac 108's. They came in what looked like a pipe bomb in the mail from some eastern block country off eBay 10 years ago. It was a mixed bunch of random stuff. Just hope I can get some years out of them. Trying to make these rangemasters look like artwork. The...

Can you prolong a germanium transistor's life?

So I've had these AF106 transistors for many years sitting in a bag. The other day I decided to just make some rangemasters out of them. Might sell a few, but I'm worried about their lifespan. One was low gain a year ago and now it's dead. The other two are fine. I was reading these are a...

    Brass master build

Just one spot on q5 on the schematic I believe. I think this will be sturdy. Solid core wires help keep thing put. This thing reminds me of a super fuzz I made, but perhaps more sounds out of it. The clean/wet blend is nice.
