Hypothetically, if you were being particularly careless and installed a relay meant for the Non-latching simple relay bypass into a Latching simple relay bypass board, would it still function?
Thanks!
Low power being the key here. I think its a general consensus that ICs are not great for anything producing a lot of heat, such as pushing a lot of watts to a speaker.
The discrete stages allow for the heat to be spread out more evenly.
This is an old thread, but it might be worth mentioning for anyone who comes across this thread -
Discrete stages are believed to have better audio quality by most HiFi aficionados. This probably isn't the case with guitar effects.
But discrete stages will almost always be considered better...
No blown fuses and everything appeared to be in place. I supplied a link in a post above which has detailed photos of the amp including all of the fuses.
I very much appreciate that advice. I’m tempted to look at it and test it, but I think I should plan to replace the power supply with an old school type.
If I wanted to do that, can you tell from the schematic what the specs should be?
I see the 330v for the power tubes. So, I’m guessing it...
Is the laugh in sarcasm or because the thought of trying to fix the stock PSU is comical? Lol
Even if it is difficult, I think a linear power supply would be the solution for long term reliability
The main issue is when the tech looked at it, he said that it will not power up!
I can reflow solder joints and check for anything that looks bad. Upon first inspection, everything looks fine.
I will look up those videos and see if they help me out.
I uploaded a different schematic with...
This is a "fun" side thing for anyone who might have some insight or is interested in helping.
As usual I will call upon the great and powerful @vigilante398 since he is our resident tube/amp/all things high voltage guy!
My nephew has a Crate V33 head. Its not the higher end made in USA ones...
I was gifted a Behringer UO-100 as a late Christmas gift.
It’s fine on its own, but it sure would be fun to mod and possibly rehouse.
What would you do?
I have been busy, but I am still looking into this build.
One of these might be the best option

I think I may have found the transformers I want:
Hammond 290XXA power transformer
Hammond 1750B Output Transformer
I’m not sure about the choke. I feel like I’m missing the specs for it?
