My experience with this come mostly from that I modded a EHX Soul food with an On/Off/On switch, meaning I had the option of no clipping, 1N60(?) (stock) and russian D9E germanium diodes that are close to the originals in forward voltages. Ofcourse it distorts at higher gain with diode clipping...

That module looks great and to me the kind of stuff where smt shines.

I used a Peavey Studio Pro 50 for 20 years, it's broken now and and full of JRC4558's. I liked the demos of that pedal linked above, it sounds pretty nice to my ears.

Another suggestion: If you have only two pins that are stuck, and have two irons and a friend, drench both joints in fresh solder, keep the irons at the joints while one of you pulls out the transformer. The trick temol posted works well esp if the pins are next to each other

There's no extensive testing to back this up but they work well like pretty much everything else they sell.

I had a couple of PT2399's that didn't look fake, and only worked if I connected one of the pins to ground momentarily
