what are the ground pads for on PPCB boards?

Thanks for the explanation, most of my pedals are built using Power I/O modules for power and I/O connections. Is there anything I should be doing with these regarding the ground pads?

what are the ground pads for on PPCB boards?

Hi all, here's a probably silly question, but what are the ground pads for on the PedalPCB boards? They're usually up by the plus and minus pads to connect the power. I've never connected them to anything, but now I'm curious.... here's a screengrab of what I'm talkin' about.

    Taqueria biasing questions

I swapped the 2.7K resistor out for 1K and can bias the 2nd JFET now. The pedal's output is still SUPER low (barely audible when all pots are dimed), so I'm working on the 3rd JFET now since something is still not right. I can measure ~17.2V going into the trims that feed this JFET, but I...

    Taqueria biasing questions

Thanks! I'll swap out the 2.7K resistor with something with less resistance and see if I can dial it in!

    Taqueria biasing questions

Hi again, I still haven't fixed this so I'm taking another stab! I'm focusing on the 2nd JFET for now in hopes I can figure out how to get it to bias properly and then apply what I've learned to the 3rd JFET as well. I can measure 0.17V at the gate pin for the 2nd JFET in my circuit, and I...

Double Muffin Fuzz-- Two Big Muffs in one box

Imma fill out my muff collection by buying 3 of these and a muffinator. I already built a Green Russian and the lazy wolf in me is inclined to just stuff the other versions from the Muffin BOM into the boxes as they're listed without further thought. But I figured I'd ask to see if anyone...

    Taqueria biasing questions

I'm not able to get my Taqueria pedal into the suggested biasing ranges for test points 2 and 3: Test Point 1 was easy to set up, the Test Point in "taco" mode is at 7.53V and "bolt" is at 9.37V. The lowest I can get Test Point 2 is about 11.14V, which is too high for both "taco" and "bolt"...

    Taqueria trouble

Thanks for the tip! I looked that section over and then touched it up again in the event there was something that I was missing, but I'm getting the same result after going over it again. I noticed that my stomp switch PCB has the "Notakliche" label on it, so I'd apparently managed to install...

    Taqueria trouble

Hi all, and Happy 2026 to everyone! I've got a Taqueria assembled but not working as expected (yet). It's got some strange behaviors that I've not seen in my pedal building experience thus far. Signal through the pedal is suuuuper low: if I dime all the knobs I can barely hear something out...

Double Muffin Fuzz-- Two Big Muffs in one box

As someone who recently found the 8 VARIATIONS listed in the Muffin Fuzz build doc and was contemplating ordering 7 more Muffin PCB's, I REALLY like this new PCB. I feel like I'll be ordering 4 and then technically owning 2 Green Russian clones...

    PT2399 Sourcing

I've played with a lot of PT2399's (mostly Eurorack modules and a guitar pedal or 2, I'm guessing I've installed 50 or so all together) and don't think I've come across one that didn't work. I'm not sure whether any had 'better' or 'worse' sound or useable range since they were all being...

SOLVED Thermionic Deluxe - Channel A voltage issue, audio signal lost on IC2.

If the signal going into IC2A sounds like hot garbage then your bias may be off. I had this happen to my Thermionic Deluxe and found that I'd initially installed IC1 upside down and managed to cook it before flipping it round. My bias was shot until I replaced IC1 then it thing sung like a two...

Electro caps vs MLCC SMD caps?

Thanks! I kludged this together which has SMD for everything but the 47u and 100u caps in the circuit. I'll order a couple and see what it sounds like! The circuit sure doesn't take up much space using these 0805 and SOIC-8 footprints!

Electro caps vs MLCC SMD caps?

Hi all, I'm throwing together a pedal based on the 424 and am wanting to use SMD components where they make sense. I've built a lot SMD synth projects and find that it's easier and cleaner to build SMD rather than thru-hole, plus they take up less space and generally cost a little less to...
