    New purple powder coat color

We currently have the Aqua Vein almost always available. We're replacing our current red with a red vein really soon. If you (or anyone) can rally enough people on a color, we are always happy to do a limited edition! If we can get a guarantee of ~50 enclosures we'll probably make 100. We've...

    New purple powder coat color

We need to replace Purple Fury from our color line-up. Sad, but it's always had inconsistency issues and we end up b-stocking 20-30% of a batch. Not how we prefer to roll so we're going to try something else. Of these two, which do you prefer? NOT looking for other purple options at this time.

    Sources for powder coated enclosures?

I'm not sure what they're doing now. In the past they'd run everything through a dishwasher haha I always enjoyed seeing a load of enclosures come out of the dishwasher. As far as getting your paint pens to stick. There is no extra wax or finish applied after powder coating. I'm guessing this...

    Sources for powder coated enclosures?

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a very wide selection of high quality <$10 powder coated enclosures with a quick turnaround anywhere. We overcome a handful of challenges to offer them, I'm sure LMS or other USA based parts suppliers run into their own unique challenges. -Stocking bare...

What kind of pot is this?

Not in my experience BUT we put the taper specs on our website so that it is clear our regular A taper is 15%.

What kind of pot is this?

    RD1M = Exaggerated C1M RD sometimes styled as 10C A=Audio/Logarithmic. 15% resistance @ 50% travel. B=Linear. 50% resistance @ 50% travel. C=Reverse Audio/Logarithmic. 85% resistance @ 50% travel. D=Steep Audio/Logarithmic. 10% resistance @ 50% travel. RD=Steep Reverse Logarithmic. 90%...

Boutique Pedal Manufacturers Are Feeling the Tariff Pinch

China. No way anyone is going to find USA made pots for ~$1ea. AFAIK (someone prove me wrong) there is nobody in the USA making 9mm and 16mm pots. There are a few companies in the USA making potentiometers, but not in the "standard" size and form factor for guitar pedals. I'm willing to bet if...

    SIP Sockets

No. They do have a four finger inner clip though so they grab on to leads pretty well.

    CE and ROHS certifications

We (StompBoxParts/Cusack) have a lot to learn about this, admittedly. Mid-December, we stopped shipping to the EU because of the new GPSR regulations. With the mix of compliant (any modern RoHS component) and non-compliant parts (lots of NOS parts with lead tinned leads), we don't have the...

Germanium Transistors - testing Hfe and leakage

Breadboard it. Throw a meter on it. RG Keen is the way. TC1 does not do well with germanium stuff. DCA55 is better but still will not catch an unstable transistor. When testing germanium stuff, a snapshot tester is really inadequate for the job. You gotta see how the numbers change over at...

    PT-2399 Quality Question

Thanks @jimilee ! For anyone else interested, we are only buying 2399's direct from Princeton/PTC's USA distro. Not sure how the other guys are selling these for significantly less than it costs us to buy direct (bulk? similar regional buy? sketchy source?). Sorry they are expensive from us...

    JRC4559D (NJM4559D) - Help me out

Both virtually the same, just different manufacturers. RC4559P is the Texas Instruments (TI) version. P is their letter for PDIP (thru-hole). RC4559D is TI. D is SOIC (SMT) in a tube. RC4559DR is SOIC on tape and reel. NJM4559D (JRC/Nissinbo) is obsolete. D is their letter for PDIP package...

    Potentiometer rotation angle?

300° is standard for the guitar pedal industry. Can't speak for other industries. Ends up working nicely for 7 o'clock minimum to 5 o'clock max.

Conquerer Fuzz - Anyone have a list of all replacements for L1?

Found the lead on the OEM for this older Mammoth inductor. Getting it re-made. Lead time will be about 10 weeks! Price will probably be closer to $6ea but shouldn't be significantly more than the 2014 price we were using previously.
