    Misdrilled the holes...

This is exactly what I do. I tape the outside and fill on the inside. It’s very tough to completely hide the hole outlines but it works. Make sure you do the mix ratio correctly. When I reuse one I flip it over to avoid drilling near the original holes. If the epoxy mix is not hard enough...

best sources for boxes and pots ?

Love My Switches has good prices on boxes and pots and a flat shipping fee. Tayda shipping had gotten very expensive for just a few pieces.

    Sheepylove Hebridean J201 (IDSS)?

Once it was boxed almost all the noise (hum) disapeared. It's not silent through my tube amps but I think that's an issued with them or the exensive cabling. But it is silent through my Blackstar Fly solid state amp on my bench.

Measuring IDSS for a J201 JFET on a daughterboard

I held the J201 chip in place with an alligator clip (smooth, no "teeth") and soldered it as I normally would doing it quickly as possible. I then tested it on my transistor tester to see if it was damaged. Did 3 with no issues.

    Sheepylove Hebridean J201 (IDSS)?

Thanks. The rig I use to power and do I/O for an unboxed board seems to add noise. I'm going to box this one and see what happens.

    Sheepylove Hebridean J201 (IDSS)?

The other one was Hot Teacher. I I have at least a couple dozen of these in a drawer. I've been able to resurrect a few. Especially some built years ago when I knew much less about what I was doing in regard sto debugging. I'll wait to post photos. I just found several what were most...

Measuring IDSS for a J201 JFET on a daughterboard

I just got the tester shown above and the SMD J201s have comparable readings. I also have some questionable thru-the-hole J201s where the Idss is reading 0.16ua. Then I tested somes ourced from PedalPCB and their readings compare to the SMDs. Is there anyway to tell what the fake ones really...

    Sheepylove Hebridean J201 (IDSS)?

The original pedal sounds great so I hope to get close. But I would be happy if the excessive noise goes away. This is my second Sheepylove pedal I built with unacceptable noise. I’ve build many high gain pedals without this much noise.

    Sheepylove Hebridean J201 (IDSS)?

Finished one today. I still need to test the J201s for Idss and I've got a tester on the way. For now (on a test rig) it's a very high gain distortion and a bit noisy. The testing rig seems to do add noise. The example on the OKKO web site are not quite so insane as what I have for now...

Build for the Mystery Meat Overdrive?

Thanks Robert. I made no assumptions since the thumbnail was part numbers.

Build for the Mystery Meat Overdrive?

Yes. Robert has been pretty responsive in supplying missing docs. The only thing I've found so far in the missing docs thread is a list of parts. Considering how many PCBs are for sale I always assumed there had to be multiple people doing the work.

Build for the Mystery Meat Overdrive?

Does anyone know why the build doc will not be released? From what I gather in the forums the pcb was released around 4 years ago. I would definitely buy it if It had a build doc.

Build for the Mystery Meat Overdrive?

The ones with the parts values on the board are not a problem. But this one just has part numbers. What am I missing?

Build for the Mystery Meat Overdrive?

I have this on my wish list but not buying until a build doc gets posted. Anyone know what the issue is? I've seen parts lists but where do they go on the board?

    SOLVED Acetylene Overdrive Question

Thanks! I figured out where the boost and bypass connect but never figured the boost came first. Turning down the boost the entire way doesn't matter much. I need to redial-in the input trimmer. At max I think it pushes the circuit too much. Time to play with it.
