Really like the Polar Cap. Reacts well to guitar volume knob. Copious amounts of gain on tap. EQ is responsive. Definitely worth the time and somewhat expensive BOM. As with all pedalpcb boards the build and layout are extremely sensible.

Knobs are from a Peavey Backstage 30 solid state combo. Which by the way, is a great little amp. I have three. Paint jobs are rattle-can 'sparkle', I'm getting better at the bursts and fades.

I feel like it has plenty of gain for being an labeled as an 'overdrive', I'm only running the drive around noon and at that level it is compressing substantially. Never owned the Protein or the Nobels, so I cannot usefully compare. Good luck sorting it.
