Probably not. You still need a DC source to start with so why add another point of potential failure and noise? Also, these aren't that efficient when running lower current draw.
What is your goal here? What necessitates the use of a buck converter?
The only situation I can see needing something like this is if you wanted to run off a diy battery pack.
