I have the production version of the pedal but seldomly use it. Although the pedal has been fine and has lots of sounds, it has side jacks and I find those to be relatively unacceptable. So I built my own proper version.
This has a couple mods the bass control is a B500k pot wired as a variable resistor between the 2 functional legs of the switxh. It is a bit bunched up at the end but it’s nice to have the in between settings I could probably be an internal trimmer or just fine tune the resistor a bit and I would be happy.
The clip control is a B1K pot that wipes between green LEDs and BAT41 diodes. It’s fairly subtle but I think I prefer it more to the green LED side. I haven’t played with it much.
I have been feeding this into my new ember and it has really unlocked a new high gain area for me. I like both pedals as they are relatively full sounding and can be set to have a decent amount of pick attack.
The build was pretty easy. I had to take it apart once as something was grounding out but I made a few small adjustments and it’s solid now.
I guess I can sell my production Carcosa now so this is a win.
