Abider C25k Pot

Tayda doesn't sell C25k pots and I'm ordering from Canada, so it doesn't make sense to buy just a pot from Stompboxparts. What's my best option for the C25k pot? Should I just go with C20k, or can I put a 50k resistor across lugs 1 and 3 of a C50k pot (I don't care about changing the taper, just about preserving the maximum value, in which case, would a B25k pot be the best option?)

Either of your solutions should work.

I’d probably just go with the 20kC. From a Quick look at the schematic, it looks like that pot is part of a low-pass filter.

From noon to full CW will only be 10% of the pot’s range (i.e. from 2.5k - 0 ohms). Aka - the most tweakable range is in the low-resistance area, so whether the top end is 25 or 20k probably doesn’t make much difference.

Once you get below noon (i.e. higher resistance), you’re probably quickly into tweaking sub-audible low frequencies.

Disclaimer: my schematic-ing is amateur at best ;)

I just never got around to changing my username because I don't post that often; I guess I'll do that now. And yes I just replaced the charge pump IC on the Zonkbox and it seemed to work fine.
