Troubleshooting Kliche Mini SE with an audio probe - tips for tracing audio path in circuit?

Hi all,

My Kliche Mini SE was working when i first built it, but soon after stopped working. It smelled a little when i opened it, so I fear maybe something got fried due to a faulty power source.

I now have a functional audio probe, and want to figure out what component or joint went bad, but I'm still pretty green when it comes to properly reading and tracing paths in schematics. Does anybody have any tips on how to trace the audio path so I know which components/joints to test?

Or if someone maybe has the Kliche Mini SE schematic with the audio path highlighted or something? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Someone with more knowledge than me will definitely post, but I was instructed on a couple of times on troubleshooting threads to start at the beginning and follow the signal path. In the schematic, that is starting on the left at the input, then proceeding to the right. So after the input jack, R31 then R1 then C1, etc. Also someone will probably suggest to test at certain spots to make the process quicker to diagnose the problem, but I do not know what those points are.

Visually inspect D101. If the power supply was faulty, hopefully it was the only thing that got fried. Check your voltages on all your ICs. This is a better starting place than using an audio probe. If you want to use an audio probe, start at the effect end and pretty much go straight across the schematic. It’s a little quicker than checking every little part. That part comes later.
