I use this blue Motiop from time to time. It's a nice color, but you have to be careful when applying - it can run. And once it dries, it chips quite easily, especially around the edges.
Aluminum needs a bit of extra care when painting it! This stuff basically wraps your enclosure up in hard plastic!![]()
The paint is quite thick, and the manufacturer recommends a brush or roller. There's no mention of spraying.I wonder if these can be used in a sprayer.
The Rustoleum quart can that I bought says that it can be sprayed when thinned with 15% xyleneI wonder if these can be used in a sprayer.
That’s some excellent DIY shit right there.Tinted some of the hammered silver with artist's oil paints; prussian blue and a touch of viridian. The color turned out pretty good! Now to see how it dries/cures. I might add a little more silver to lighten it up a bit.

That came out great.Added a little more silver and painted the enclosure last night; I think it turned out pretty damn good! It's not totally cured/hardened yet, but that seems to be in line with the instructions on the can that says 24 hours as it's only been like 12

Thanks! I'm really happy with itThat came out great.
I was a little worried about that, but it seems to be drying okLet's hope that oil paint won't slow down drying time.
Totally agree! I used this for my zonk, the finish turned out great! But it does chip easy. Ended up giving a natural aged look which ended up looking pretty cool!I use this blue Motiop from time to time. It's a nice color, but you have to be careful when applying - it can run. Thanks! Yeah, it's a little light on the blue now; ideally I would have gotten something in between the first color and the new color, but I'm happy with itThis is really cool. Good job trying an unconventional solution and figuring it out. I was fully expecting you to fumble this but it looks great. Kinda looks to me like it could be a little more blue even but I dig that grey blue as well
so the base here is the brush-on rust-oleum hammered paint? does it adhere well to the enclosure surface?Tinted some of the hammered silver with artist's oil paints; prussian blue and a touch of viridian.
