Awful Waffle, no sound

I’d like to think my pedal art skills have improved but apparently my understanding of electronics has not. Seems like such a simple build but when it’s not engaged there is a clean guitar sound and when engaged there is no sound. I tried comparing wiring to other pedal builds and couldn’t see an explicit error, which was frustrating.

I’m using a TL072 cuz I don’t have a TL071 or other LM741 equivalent at the moment.

What boneheaded thing did I do wrong?

If it wants a single opamp then the dual opamp will be the problem. Different pinout.

It’d be possible to use the dual with some basic knowledge there, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a permanent solution.

So it’s literally just the wrong chip?
Googling made me think I could swap in a TL072 but I’m entirely self-taught at electronics stuff so I’m not very smart at it.
If that’s the case then I’m relieved because I was very hopeful such a small board wouldn’t require too much troubleshooting.

Ordering more Tayda UV enclosures shortly so I’ll make sure to get some TL071s as well. Those are replacements for LM741s, yes? Or is there something better?

741, 071, 351, 061 should all work.
OP07 may even work.
