Way back when @MattG posted his original build of this, I asked for a PCB of it which he graciously sent to me. After getting all the parts, it went together very quickly which is awesome but I dilly dallied on the faceplate and getting an enclosure for it... thanks to life and work getting in the way.

Well, I got the enclosure and the knobs but no faceplate yet but I do want to post the build report because it is a really cool pedal and a breeze to build.

I went with a gold enclosure and gold knobs to go with the theme of Egregiously Expensive. When I finally get around to doing the faceplates, I'll go with black and gold.. to continue the theme obviously.

Looks great! Thanks for posting the build report!
Of course! This was a really great layout and I love the bypass switching using really common ICs. I've been digging into using the 40106BE to handle two bypass switches since it doesn't use all the pins for a single one.

I did this with two relays for a dual drive pedal (Paragon build I did for a friend).

I haven’t yet made a dual electrical bypass. I think I drew up the schematic though. It’s conceptually easy/straightforward, but the PCB routing isn’t pretty.

@MattG Is this an original or modified circuit?
The actual effect circuit is the Cornish CC-1. I copied Aion’s Cepheus schematic.

I did make a change, but I don’t think you can call it a mod. The original circuit uses a bootstrapped BJT as a buffer (I.e. the “Cornish buffer”), and a single opamp for the final (Baxandall) stage. That seemed inefficient to me, so I used a dual opamp so the input buffer was changed to use that. The goal was PCB & parts efficiency, not to change the sound. Other than that, I just added the electrical bypass switching.

I think this in the only Cornish drive pedal that I haven’t tried. Have you tried the SS-3 or compressor?

SS-3 no. The compressor, almost: several years ago, I built Aion's Oceanid, which is a Cornish OC-1 Optical Compressor Clone, but it's been sitting in my "to debug" pile ever since. It's either super subtle or I made a similarly subtle mistake.

You’re sounding like me now lol. Give the SS-3 a go if you get a chance. Very amp like but can get almost fuzzy. Not your typical TS style for sure.
