Capacitor soldered to GE transistor?

I have a Sunlion by CMC Effects that I am selling. Taking photos of inside of the pedal I noticed a MLCC capacitor soldered to 2 legs of the Rangemaster GE transistor. What is the purpose of this?

To hold the excess flux in place?

But seriously, more than likely to take some high end out.

Lawdy that is some hot trash build quality.

Cap is to prevent oscillation/take some treble out

Interesting. I have built an only a few things with GE transistors but never came across using a cap in that way.

I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I have my own pile of poorly soldered projects to fix! It was an inexpensive pedal, and the other side sounds good, so I do like CMC overall.

Surely that was done by a previous owner?? If you bought the pedal new like that I would never buy from that builder again! And yes, that would be to reduce treble.
