Figbuster PTP

Well, I'm recovering from minor surgery and high on opioids (prescription!) so maybe it's messing with my procedural logic and aesthetics.

Lots of good things already written about the figbuster/cluster fuzz/moonn f(x)=fuzzyness2 and I've reported on the latter's differences.

This is just a solid, great circuit. Lots of great tones, from overdrive to an overdrivey fuzz. Lots of interplay between the 8bit knob and the fuzz knob.

I decided to pre assemble and lay out the circuit since five tie ins is a lot in a 125b even if it's pretty simple. Everything worked out pretty well except that big ass 220uf cap [caused problems, so i] started massaging stuff and it didn't end up looking so spiff, but, still sounds great!

I wanted to call it "casses ta figue", but my label maker tape isn't sticking today.

Looks dope to me. I tried to layout a simple circuit on vero today, and it nearly broke my brain. True point-to-point impresses the hell out of me, and this is no exception.

Merci M. Chat!

Here's some thoughts: this circuit is very tuned for guitar, although it did sound pretty good with my baritone.

I'm pretty sure I implemented it correctly, minus maybe some old-ass component tolerances (thanks again, @jwin615 ! See, I told you I'd put things to good use!)

One revision could be to tweak the tone stack, because at the mo it is quite subtle

Fuzz knob below noon is light drive--it's okay. I like it best almost maxed or maxed with either clipping mode.

8Bit knob to the left is more fuzztastic, above noon, less loosey-bassy and tighter and more crispy amp-like overdrive. Full CW is octavey and spitty.

[Just A/B'd with the moonn board. They are unsurprisingly, very similar sounding with similar settings. I think I might prefer the clipping diodes and tones on my PTP marginally more--they are clearer--but the Moonn board has a lot of versatility on tap.]
