PSA - ElectroSmith has apparently temporarily halted production of Daisy Seed

Hello!

I had an order for a Daisy Seed from a week ago that was just cancelled today (from a Canadian online retailer) and this was their message (I left their spelling errors intact)

We're writing you today as we were just informed by Electrosmith that due to the current RAM global shortage, production had halted for the moment on all Daisy Seed products. Because of this, we have issued you a full refund for this item.

Of course it's possible they just made this up so they didn't have to fulfill my order, but it seems plausible. So this is just a PSA to buy up any Daisy Seeds you find if you want one in the near future. I'm off to try and source one for myself! :)

Yeah shipping to Canada is crazy!
Pretty sure lots of Canadians are not pulling the trigger because of this.

Lucky for me I live 4 minutes from the border so I can have them shipped to a US PO box and pick them up there, then pay whatever duties they may or may not charge when I cross back!
 
One extra data point - I ordered two on Tuesday and they were shipped direct from ES yesterday. So at least for now they are still shipping and the price is consistent with what I've paid over the last year or two.

Ooo I could be tempted. Don't have a project for one. What are you building?

Also, I just got an email from Electrosmith this morning about pricing and stock, so I don't think they are halting production, but maybe Moog in Canada is going to adjust their price/stop carrying them?

I also just ordered a daisy a few days ago, it hasn't arrived so I don't know the rev, will let you know when it arrives

I was considering the DFM version to try it out but didn't want to modify my board/plans for now to accommodate it

I'm building a parallel chorus/reverb for a friend and I, I'm already done with the coding, but now I gotta get going on the actual build! Once that is done, I'm going to work on a whole new project that is way out of my comfort zone; a generative jam partner pedal that listens to your playing, learns your phrases, and answers back like an improvising bandmate.

All knobs and toggles will be used to tune how tight it follows your playing, how present it will be, etc. Hopefully I can get something musical out of this.

Should be fun!

Yes they are, but the new terrarium PCB does fix the whine issue I've heard.
