Aleph Null Troglodyte Reverb - Digital reverb using one pt2399 and a BTDR-3H brick.

My main goto is the BYOC w/ dwell (in) and reverb (out) controls. It's great, simple, it works. I wanted more and built the deadastronuatfx chasm reverb that does the basic reverb into spacious scapes and oscilation, with an oscilation sensitivity switch. Both are great reverbs, but I still wanted more bells n whistles. The deadendFX charonium (LGL Misty Cave) does resonate on the edge of oscilation, but its a one trick pony.

I've also built a clone of the DBA reverb, I couldn't get into it, ended up in the junk/recycle pile.

Troglodyte Reverb, when I bought the pcb Aleph Null had just come out with it and a build report, I was sold. Finally got around the finishing it.

I fumbled on the tayda drill file with the LED and foot switches, oops! I'll fix it later, maybe rehouse this one or build another.

Controls:

Dry: Dry level from 0db to +14db
Wet: Wet level , intaeractive with Saturation
Decay: Dwell into the brick
Onset: Pre delay up to 300ms
Tone: Tilt EQ 1Khz center
Saturation: Gain for clipping stage into the brick, interactive with wet and FBCK
Sway: Envelope controlled pitch bending , chorus on low, pitch bends on high
Feedback (FBCK): Feeds back the pre tone delay signal, affected by decay and saturation, can do oscillation
Swell/Damp SW: Uses momentary FootSW to either create swell effect by cutting out the feedback and momenterily bring it back in, or the opposite, Dampens the delay momentararily

Great basic reverb, but the Bells n Whistles! I really like it, more control over the dry/wet, predelay mixed in, chorus or pitch bending, swelling or damping feedback, resonant oscillation, and some onboard OD.

The swell effect can be subtle to overwhelming or oscillating. Predelay gives a spacious presence, and onboard chorus / pitchbends really add to the whole effect. With the tilt tone at 1khz, dark, even or bright reverb. Depending on how you set all the controls, it goes into resonating sensitive on the edge of oscilation similar to the misty cave reverb

The only thing I don't use is a lot of is saturation/OD as it adds some noise. Don't get me wrong, it's a good add at lower levels for me.

The DeadastronuatFX Chasm will add spacial presence to your reverb, the Troglodyte takes it further into spacial soundscape exploration.

This looks great. On my bench now.

Have you modded your byoc reverb in any way? That was my first pedal build and my go-to until i built the spirit box with the mod which fixed the volume drop. That pedal is now my go-to and I imagined that the byoc could undergo a similar mod.

Do you mind sharing the tayda drill template file for the troglodyte? Getting my case custom painted by them.

No mods to my byoc reverb.

I did the drill template from scratch, messed up with the led placement, tried to fix it on the new drill template but haven't re-ordered it yet. All of the pot holes are 8mm to give it wiggle room.

This is so helpful! I will order one and report back on the newer template.
