I recognize that my next statement is blasphemous, but I am not a fan of a Rat. Despite that opinion, I wanted to try this variant. With Rat’s I found them to be too dark for my taste, but this variant fixes that issue.
I had purchased these mirrored knobs (20 mm) before looking at the layout. Unfortunately, the layout would not easily accommodate the knobs, so I changed the layout. To accommodate the layout change, I had to alter the pot locations. I flipped the tone pot 180 degrees and placed diode leads through the holes in the pot’s leads. This change provided enough room to make the change and look clean.
