I’ve built several of these so far and I do enjoy how they artifact. This was built for a friend that has a teen struggling with cancer. The kid started playing electric guitar last year… My first attempt landed in the troubleshooting forum and never made it out… started fresh and all went well..

Man, I am having struggles with my build so I started reading reports and found yours. It has been a long time since I had one bricked like this.
 
I haven’t tried this one yet but had a go with the Pelota 2, PT2399 based with modulation, everything looked good but no go. Looking back I wish I would’ve tried different PT2399’s as they seem to be a little shady lol
 
I tried to troubleshoot the original board on this build... Went after it with an audio probe but got stumped on where the audio section came out of the 2399.. tried other chips and no bueno.... Decided it was easier to just start over and throw the board in the maybe later pile... I still have the bad one and might have another look.. only took me 35 minutes to solder up another board versus scratching my head for over an hour troubleshooting..lol

Agree. I was about to follow your lead when @Robert saved my build! I will post a report, thanks for yours. Thanks for your report.
