DEMO Breadboard Rig builds [Eight Ball Overdrive (Marshall JCM800 Pedal) / Mofeta (EAE Model feT)]

update: i’ve now had some time to mod the mofeta for super lead-inspired tones (and record a demo with an SM57 this time) this is where ive ended up: - after cutting so much low end with a 2n2 on the bright channel, i felt that changing all the back end 100n caps to 22n was taking all the life...

    Chop Shop Overdrive (Second Build)

🍝 tbh, i can't talk, my first builds looked like utter shit, and still do. anyway, this is excellent work. labels look great.

DEMO Breadboard Rig builds [Eight Ball Overdrive (Marshall JCM800 Pedal) / Mofeta (EAE Model feT)]

i should have started breadboarding a long time ago. it all started about 6 months ago when i wanted to start testing out some MP38 Ge transistors in basic circuits with a cheap 400 point breadboard and the brilliantly convenient ProtoBoard Micro. then i finally 'got it' and realized why...

First Pedal, First Build (Muroidea Distortion)

omg ay congrats on your first build. looks a hell of a lot tidier than my first abysmal attempt (which didn't work initially of course lol) and if you haven't already, don't forget to try boosting it with a tubescreamer 🤘

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

Do these cheap testers actually factor in the leakage when giving a hfe reading/value? (in sorta the same way that the rg keen method w/ multimeter subtracts the leakage to give a true hfe value)

    nah, not in this circuit.

    Valhalla vs Original Diezel VH4

lol sorry i dont really have any helpful suggestions. bear in mind - parts tolerances is a thing (pots 20%, films caps 5% electro caps 20%, resistors 1%) when comparing the two pedals are you running them on the same power supply / same voltage ?

    Fuzz War V1 Question (Transister-related)…

apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere already. i’ve been trying to dig through the forum and find if there’s been any update since this PCB was examined. https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/BellumMKI-PedalPCB.pdf looking at the timestamp on the current build docs (2021) it’s unclear if...

    Fets for the MigFet

bear in mind, the testing methods are different. i used this vero circuit: (could be breadboarded instead) just found my notes. looks like i grabbed a handful of 11, measured as per above method, and just picked x3 with the highest Idss. tbh i wasn’t really able to comprehend the JFET...
