Shaka, When The Walls Fell! Madbean Edgelord Build

I had another batch of boards in hand and ready to go (updated layout) when I realized I left a trace off the PCB. So, I just need to order the revised ones.

    SOLVED Mad Bean Tourbus (DMM)

Good to know. So, the Donner does not have isolated outputs, I reckon?

    Different grounds

It's not gibberish. IMO, there's no reason not to attach every ground point to a pour in both the top and bottom layers (for analog guitar circuits). The only time I don't do this is either I'm using a 4 layer design (meaning only one inner layer has a ground pour) or I'm dealing with a compact...

DEMO fright (Madbean StageFright / Maestro MP-1)

A long time ago I had a custom rubber stamp made for a single pass imprint on a 1590B (for a Big Muff project). It wasn't perfect, but really easy to do.

New shop space - a WIP

Next up is to get the garage cleaned out so I can start making the work tables. We kinda junked it up in Dec. to get the house ready for all our holiday guests. Only used like $50 of the Lowes gift cards so far! They are burning a hole in my pocket.

Buffered Split and summing amp in a 125b

I have a pretty decent design worked out for this specifically for bass. Just haven't followed through yet. I'm sure Robert's fits the bill, too.

New Production Germanium Transistors - What's The Scoop?

Yeah, I have some NPN and PNP from CEDist. I've got three builds I'm working on that will use them but I need to test them for gain and leakage first.

Anyone Try These Bigguns From LMS?

Isn't that a 1790? My eyes have convinced me.

What is this transistor doing here?

Got yourself a custom regulator there. 68v in, voltage divider to provide ~40v to the transistor base, then ~38v out.

First Time PCB Design - Help Request

Didn't see that. Well, IMO there's nothing wrong in copying a layout as a means to simply learn how to do it. But, you are absolutely right: the files shouldn't be made public in this case (this is why I should read all replies before vomiting out my opinion).

First Time PCB Design - Help Request

It's a good layout for first time. Impressive, actually. But..I would move the weight pot under the gain pot for a more traditional 4 control layout. Also, align the centers of C1 and the resistors above. Just looks better, IMO. Good job!

All Time Most Bestest Favoritest Chorus You Have Owned , Played or Heard?

I didn't have a CE-2 when I was a gigging bass player but the Whammy on detune mode was used all the time. Sounds glorious live.

    Resistor wattage and lead spacing

    Whoops, yeah 7.62mm.

    Resistor wattage and lead spacing

7.5mm for 1/4W is the most common. AFAIK, it's what's used on almost all PedalPCB boards.

New shop space - a WIP

A bit of a failure to report: I had a really nice but old Samsung monitor whose CFL lighting had failed. Today I attempted to repair and replace it with LED backlights but I f#cked it up completely. Couldn't get it back together and I scratched the display very badly in the process. Bit bummed...

New shop space - a WIP

When I first got it, it was too bassy. So, I shorted the 18k stopper resistor on the bass control to turn it down further. But, it's really broken in now so I think I can remove that mod. Haven't done anything else to it yet.
