So if I lower R30 from 2.2 Meg to 100k~220k, I'm pretty sure it'll turn channel two into a low gain pedal input? Any thoughts are appreciated!

I need a good first tube project

Uncle Doug on YouTube is an amazing resource of tube knowledge, animal love and dry wit. https://www.youtube.com/@UncleDoug Psionic Audio has got game too but mostly down to business. https://www.youtube.com/@PsionicAudio There is a lower cost technique using a "Voltage Doubler". Basically two...

I had some time to dig into it and as promised, I got the vibe going. It was a couple of drifted resistors. Sounds a little fast to me but I'm inexperienced so I'm just going to sit with it for a bit. The only thing left to source are the 2.5 inch #8 carriage bolts to secure the chassis and...

    Power Supply Amperage

I just made the two turnaround cables I needed for this aliexpress. I like that Robert's can go fine enough for fuzz. I'll be getting that when there's some build docs but I'm glad I've got this for volts

@RetiredUnit1 is the man! I'm only on my third tube amp at this point so I'm a complete and total noob FWIW. It was either Psionic or Uncle Doug I heard say "It usually not the tubes" at one point in his videos and I've taken that to heart. As long as I have a known good backup tube to try...

MM on certain parts in certain conditions. Just make sure to read all the notes on the schematic for settings and conditions of the amp for proper measurement. It's just like using an audio probe, except it's HIGH VOLTAGE. One arm behind the back or other safety precautions in place before...

edit, saw you biased. I would check all test points voltages starting at the power supply. Something isn't right.

I put everything back in the cab and made a short video sample. The power strip being turned off is a great start. https://photos.app.goo.gl/uzsU3u9qX9N1pefp6 The vibe isn't working...yet. I tried a different tube and still nothing. I'm not terribly concerned as I've got the...

Installed new grommets on the preamp 12ax7 mount. Plugged into the current limiter to make sure I didn't have a short. Fired up good so I plugged into the wall and it sounded great just on the bench! I'll assemble in the morning and hopefully post a sample of the sweetness!

Changed out resistors for anything over 20%. I installed grommets for the preamp chassis. I pulled the shock mount ones out of the preamp mount but didn't have the right size. Hopefully I will this week and I'll get this fired up before I leave for work next week.

That's the setup. Simple 150 watt current limit bulb after a variac. I just had the two meters hooked up to each of the transformers primary for the first power up to make sure I don't smoke em. Once it's up and stable I take plate voltage readings with the amp plugged into a wall outlet. I...

She's alive! Not happy about it, but shes alive. Terrible sputtering then oscillating. I've done a spreadsheet for the BOM and then checked the resistors, marking the actual value on the spreadsheet as well. Three were so bad I couldn't even get a reading! Five or six were over 50% off...

Close, so close. In typical fashion I missed the cap order by two. I'm just not gonna worry about how I wound up with two extra .0022uf and I needed two .022uf. The tubes were all RCA, so that's great. Except for the 12ax7s which are sylvania. I've already ordered the .022uf with a few extra...
