Son of a gun! I thought I might have had my first solve. I'd probably check to see if either there is a cold solder joint that got knocked loose when it fell, or if one of the wires coming out of the break out board to the board got knocked together in a way that are causing the to short together.

Hard to tell from the picture angle, but is 51p C5 position cap making contact with the anode pad of the LED or the positive power pad?
